Bianca’s Yoga Quiz…

How did you 1st find Yoga?  Or What 1st brought you to Yoga?
I first found yoga when I was looking for a way of working with my mind, body and heart to move towards the deep healing that I needed in my life.

What is your favorite Yoga book?
I don’t have a favorite yoga book, but refer to many.  As the Director of Therapeutic Studies at Seattle Yoga Arts and a teacher of all levels of classes, I find inspiration and guidance from many sources.  Currently I’m spending a lot of time looking at specific physical challenges that my students are facing and looking to inspiration with in the wonderful biographical and philosophical texts that provide the foundation of Ansuara Yoga.

What feeds your soul?
The combination of my meditation practice, my yoga practice and the love of being with my son feeds my soul.  They all enhance each other and consequently, and most importantly to me, they help me be a better parent and person.

What is your favorite guilty pleasure?
My favorite guilty pleasure is spending the day doing only what I want to do, which often includes my meditation practice, a long indulgent & challenging yoga practice, perusing bookstores and watching a movie in a theatre.  There are so many wonderful and fulfilling demands on most of my days that to have a full day to myself utterly is such a rare pleasure.  I indulge in these days with gusto and a sweet mild dose of guilt, making it that much more wonderful to meet the demands of parenthood and service to my community of students and clients when I step back in the flow.

Who or what most influences your teaching?
My teaching is influenced by the grace of my studies with my meditation teacher, Paul Muller-Ortega, my dear friend and mentor Denise Benitez, and the creativity and support of John Friend, the founder of Anusara Yoga.
